Challenge

Project

While working as creative directors for Ogilvy, we had the opportunity to bring to life BP’s multi-year sponsorship of several US Olympic and Paralympic athletes in London and Sochi.

We helped create the brand for the sponsorship, applied it to digital channels like the web and social media, and filmed multiple video documentaries about each of the athletes.

Challenge

What would NASA look like if we could push beyond their current “institutional,” serious look to introduce a bit of the wide-eyed whimsy of yesteryear? We don’t purport to have the answer, but we sure had fun posing the questions and playing around with our designer “toys.”

Concept for – Well-Established Online Trade Publication

Trade Publication Case

Challenge

Project

Digit was approached by a well-established trade publication to help optimize their content feed while increasing their ability to filter and categorize it. The technologies involved included WordPress, a set of RSS feeds, two cloud hosts, and a “patch” script for content filtering and tagging.

The challenge: the publication was taking in too much irrelevant content from the feed and the process to tag and publish much of it was manual and labor-intensive. Furthermore, over time workarounds had to be developed resulting in an overly complex architecture with multiple web and cloud hosts.

Digit’s proposed solution: to write a custom WordPress plugin that integrates the feeds and enables both easy manual (when desired) and automatic content filtering, tagging (including canonical), and publishing. This eliminated the need for the existing “patch” script running on cloud hosts, saving cost and streamlining the overall system architecture.

Herman Miller

Concept for – Herman Miller

Challenge

Project

Herman Miller doesn’t need presentation. Everyone knows this legendary mid-century modern furniture brand. Their stores carry some of the most enshrined names in furniture design ranging from Charles and Ray Eames to Alexander Girard and George Nelson.

We had the temerity of giving ourselves quite a challenging project brief: to reimagine Herman Miller’s website, to evolve and update the brand for our current era. We did this with the utmost respect for the company’s heritage and we hope that, at the very least, it will be considered a tasteful homage.
